Hello fellow healthcare leaders,

There is only one constant in life, and that constant is change. The same bodes for the dynamic world of healthcare. We are constantly tasked with the means by which to improve client care; such as enhancing quality, maintaining safety, increasing seamless transitions, and strategizing to predict how to prepare for the future of our client care needs. These challenges are ones that are faced by every institute, irrespective of size, across the country and ultimately across the globe. However, why face these challenges alone?

The Professional Practice Network of Ontario (PPNO) is a network of healthcare leaders from organizations across Ontario, and other provinces. Our network includes individuals working in the fields of professional practice, a variety of clinical care areas, and regulatory colleges. Over the past 20 years, we have been connecting colleagues in the system who are asking the same questions, working on similar initiatives, or simply having discussions about policies and standards to reach best practices or align with accreditation standards.

Our network includes over 79 member organizations, and over 200 individual members, all of whom are leading care to give our clients the best possible healthcare experience. You will find discussions related to clinical care expertise, organizational policies, standards of care, team dynamics and functioning, organizational risk and privacy, and much more in the realm of professional practice. Here, you will also be given the opportunity to share ideas and discuss work that has been done to improve or streamline care and be provided with insights as to what is happening to move care into the future.

Some of the benefits our network include but are not limited to:

1. An invitation to participate in 2-3 networking meetings per year
2. Ongoing Electronic platform to network, shares resources, and research between members
3. Access to archived summaries and associated documents (e.g. role descriptions, policy and procedures, templates, etc.)

Our members have emphasized the value of direct and “virtual” networking opportunities, the degree of information sharing as well as willingness to share existing resources (e.g. policies and procedures).

We are constantly reviewing how to enhance our membership experience and welcome new members to increase the wealth of knowledge.

Please go to the “about” tab to find more information about our purpose, meeting schedules, and membership criteria. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions about PPNO.

We look forward to enhancing practice with you in this ever-changing time.

Cheers,

Anthony Danial
